The long-awaited sequel to Malaysia’s groundbreaking animated film is here! Released on May 22, 2025, Ejen Ali The Movie 2: Misi Satria continues the story of our young agent with a bold new mission. This time, the stakes are higher, the animation is sharper, and the emotional depth is even more compelling. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the franchise, there’s a lot to love in this powerful follow-up from WAU Animation.
A Visual and Emotional Powerhouse
There’s never a dull moment in Ejen Ali The Movie 2. Everything is smooth.
Visually, it’s stunning. From the fluid fighting sequences to the detailed cityscapes of Cyberaya, everything feels alive. The animation quality rivals international productions, in terms of quality and storytelling.
The soundtrack, especially Hanya Kamu by M. Nasir, adds an emotional layer that stays with you long after the credits roll. Please also check out Teman Sejati by Nidji and Penjuara by Hael Husaini.
Even quieter moments like group study scenes are treated with care, blending action and character development seamlessly. The story flows naturally, and the values of teamwork, friendship, and responsibility shine through.
Do You Need to Watch the First Movie?
If this is your first exposure to the Ejen Ali universe, you’ll still enjoy Ejen Ali The Movie 2, but be prepared for some confusion. The emotional impact and character arcs hit harder if you’ve followed the journey from the beginning:
- Ejen Ali Season 1
- Ejen Ali Season 2
- Ejen Ali: The Movie (Misi Neo)
- Ejen Ali Season 3
For longtime fans, this sequel delivers in every way.
A Mature Story That Grows With Its Audience
One of Ejen Ali’s greatest strengths has always been its mature storytelling. From the first season to Misi Neo, the series consistently offers layered narratives that resonate with both kids and adults.
We’re not just here for the animation quality or the details, though they’ve certainly improved. We’re here for a strong, compelling story.
Going into Misi Satria, I had high expectations. The first movie was a tough act to follow. It was emotionally rich and tightly written. So the question was: Could WAU Animation top it?
Yes, they absolutely did. This sequel isn’t just a continuation, it elevates the entire franchise.
Projek Satria and the Pressure of Growing Up

In this installment, we see Ali taking on a new role as he’s assigned the powerful Projek Satria armor, powered by Ferro Fluid. Meanwhile, Alicia is chosen to wield the IRIS system after her success in Season 3.
What I appreciated most is the emotional conflict they face. These are still kids. They’re navigating school, identity, friendship, and loyalty while also carrying the weight of being elite M.A.T.A. agents.
Ali’s pride is tested as Alicia proves herself, creating tension that feels real and relatable. Will they be able to work together? You’ll have to watch to find out.
Neonimus: A Brilliant New Threat
Misi Satria introduces a new villain, Neonimus, a genius hacker with deep ties to M.A.T.A. This character brings a darker, more complex layer to the story. The plot becomes more unpredictable, with genuine twists and one jaw-dropping revelation that had me whispering “no way” in the cinema.
One standout scene involves Ali’s suit malfunctioning, forcing him to rely on his instincts and skill highlighting his growth and vulnerability as a character.
We also get to see more of Cyberaya’s political underbelly, making the world feel even more layered and realistic.
Alicia Shines And So Does Rizwan?
Alicia’s character development is one of the movie’s strongest elements. She’s confident, capable, and clearly evolving into a leader.
Honestly, I hope she and Ali fall in love when they’re older, because that chemistry is real!
As for Rizwan, I’ll say nothing more. He was supposed to be M.A.T.A.’s traitor, and yet … let’s just say his role here is a big one. You’ll need to see Ejen Ali The Movie 2 for yourself.
Don’t Miss the Post-Credit Scenes!
Make sure to stay through the credits. There are two post-credit scenes, and they hint at exciting things ahead for the Ejen Ali universe.

Ejen Ali The Movie 2: Misi Satria is not just a great sequel. It’s a landmark for Malaysian animation. With improved visuals, emotional storytelling, and an unpredictable plot, it’s a movie that respects its audience and dares to go deeper.
If you’re invested in the characters and world of Ejen Ali, this film is a must-watch. And even if you’re just curious, give it a shot; you might find yourself binge-watching Seasons 1 to 3 afterward.
If your kids are growing out of Ejen Ali and asking ‘what’s next?’ try Kaiju No. 8 for military-meets-monster mayhem or Solo Leveling for the ultimate gamer glow-up.
