Hi, I am from Malaysia!
Welcome to ComicsDeck, a collaborative blog written by a small group of people who spend far too much time thinking about comics, movies, anime, games, and action figures. Some people meditate. We compare Batman runs, argue about adaptations, and stare at shelves wondering if one more figure is really a bad decision. It usually is, by the way. We just do it anyway.
ComicsDeck exists because pop culture is more fun when it is honest, practical, and written by people who actually care. Not corporate press-release nonsense. Not fake hype. Just real opinions from fans, collectors, and readers who know the hobby can be brilliant one day and absolute nonsense the next.
Who We Are
Juan writes a big chunk of the comics coverage, especially when Batman, Wolverine, collecting habits, or buying decisions are involved. He is the sort of Malaysian comic collector who can enjoy a good story and still get distracted by shelf space, trade dress, and whether a book is worth the money or just another shiny mistake in a long line of shiny mistakes.
Mira handles anime and manga coverage, especially the kind that overlaps naturally with comic fandom. If a series has strong characters, dramatic worldbuilding, and enough emotional damage to keep fans talking for weeks, she is probably already there.
Kat covers more than just movies and series. She is one of our key voices for Star Wars, DC, and character-driven pop-culture coverage, whether that means writing about Grogu and Mandalorian feelings, digging into Supergirl before a movie hits, or jumping into books like Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman when the material deserves it.
Eric reviews action figures and collectibles. If it comes with accessories, weird joints, display value, or that dangerous little sentence in your head saying it would look good on the shelf, Eric is the one dealing with it.
What We Cover
ComicsDeck is built around a few main categories, because even chaos needs folders once in a while.
Comics
This is where you will find comic reviews, reading guides, collecting advice, and the occasional “should you actually buy this?” reality check. We cover single issues, collected editions, beginner-friendly guides, and bigger character or universe pieces, especially when Batman, Superman, Wolverine, or newer lines like the Absolute Universe are involved.
Movies/Series
This section covers comic-related films and shows, adaptation talk, streaming releases, and franchise opinions. Sometimes a movie is great. Sometimes it is a two-hour reminder that having source material does not automatically mean anyone used it properly.
Anime
Anime and manga live here, especially series that appeal to comic readers who like action, fantasy, sci-fi, strong worldbuilding, or emotionally unstable people making terrible decisions. So, you know, anime.
Games
This is where we talk about games tied to comics, superheroes, and the wider geek universe, including console coverage like PS5 when it makes sense for the site. Good gameplay matters. Good storytelling matters too. A famous character alone is not enough to save a lazy game, unfortunately.
Action Figures
Figures, model kits, and collectibles go here. Some people call them toys. Those people usually do not understand shelf presence, articulation, paint apps, or the emotional pain of paying money for something that cannot even stand properly on its own.
Gear & Buying Guides
This is where we cover tablets, iPads, and other gear that actually helps with the hobby, especially for reading comics, watching shows, and handling digital life without wanting to throw your device out the window. If you are looking for practical help instead of vague marketing fluff, this is the section for that.
What To Expect
Here is the reality: we all have actual day jobs. Real life, office hours, and general adult logistics tend to get in the way. So do not expect some corporate publishing machine that pumps out five articles a day on a strict schedule.
Instead, expect honest reviews whenever we actually have the time to sit down and write them, the occasional deep-dive guide when we have the energy, and a lot of collector-minded opinions from people who buy and use the stuff they talk about.
We try to be clear about what kind of piece you are reading. Some posts are straightforward reviews. Some are guides. Some are personal editor-style pieces about the hobby, travel, gear, or whatever strange rabbit hole the week has created. That is intentional. Fandom is not tidy, and neither are our schedules, so the site should not feel like it was assembled by a committee that has never bought a comic in its life.
Start Here
If you are new to ComicsDeck, a good place to start is one of our popular review pieces like Absolute Batman #1 or a practical guide like Best Tablet for Reading Comics. That should tell you very quickly whether this site is your kind of nonsense. If you are new to comics, start with The Definitive Beginner’s Guide to Comic Collecting.
If you enjoy the site, bookmark it, explore the categories, and come back when the next comic, movie, or collectible tries to convince us it is essential. We are usually here, mildly sceptical and still clicking anyway.
Reviews And Policies
We write from a fan and collector point of view, not as an official publisher, rights holder, or manufacturer. If something is great, we will say so. If something is overpriced, overhyped, badly written, or built like it lost a fight with gravity, we will say that too.
